SMART SUNDAYS is a movement to encourage people to bring small lifestyle changes and be part of the solution to CLIMATE PROBLEMS– so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be a part of SMART SUNDAYS by choosing to clean your place, streets, or park, ride a bicycle, and refuse single-use plastics?
Smart Sundays provide resources and ideas to help you reduce your carbon footprint every day.
How to be part of this challenge
Begin With Sundays:
Ditch Your Car
Use public transport, carpool, bike, bicycle, or walk whenever possible to reduce your carbon emissions and promote sustainable transportation.
Short Shower
Conserve water by taking shorter showers, fixing leaks, and installing low-flow showerheads and faucets.
Dine-In
Dine in the mood of having an outside meal, choose to dine in instead of ordering food packed in plastic boxes.
Eat a Plant-based Diet
Reduce food waste, and choose organic and locally grown foods to reduce the environmental impact of your food choices.
Add Greenery to Your House
add some plants on your balcony, or terrace. You can also start from the kitchen garden, and grow vegetables like tomatoes, green chili, and coriander.
Organize a Cleaning Drive
Engage your friends or neighbor in park or street cleaning drives in your society.
Use Natural Light
Turn off lights and appliances when not in use, and unplug electronics when they are not being used.
No to Plastic
Zero use of plastic bags in Sunday grocery shopping and other single use plastic.
Take the Challenge
Sustainable living is not about perfection, but about making small changes in our daily life that add up to make a big impact over time.
